Position Title: Bilingual Bookkeeper
Location: Remote Colombia
Shift days, hours and time zone: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM (CST)
Job description: We are seeking a highly detailed and experienced Bilingual Bookkeeper to maintain and record a company's financial transactions. This remote role is essential for ensuring financial accuracy, managing cash flow, and providing clear financial insights. A key focus will be on core bookkeeping duties, utilizing accounting software, and managing payroll and preliminary tax documentation. Bilingual (Must be proficient in English and Spanish given the typical outsourcing context).
Responsabilities: The Bookkeeper will be responsible for the full cycle of day-to-day financial operations: · Transaction Management: Accurately record, categorize, and post all daily financial transactions, including income, expenses, and receipts. · Accounts Payable & Receivable (A/P & A/R): Process vendor invoices and payments (A/P) and manage customer invoices, payment application, and follow-up on overdue accounts (A/R). · Bank Reconciliation: Perform thorough reconciliation of company bank and credit card statements to ensure financial records precisely reflect cash balances. · Financial Reporting: Generate essential financial statements, such as Balance Sheets and Income Statements, to assess the company's financial health and performance. · Payroll Management: Process and manage payroll functions, including calculations, disbursements, and record-keeping. · Tax & Compliance Support: Ensure financial compliance with tax laws and GAAP standards. Prepare preliminary financial information and documentation for external accountants and tax preparers, with a preference for knowledge of US taxes.
Skills and qualifications - Hard and soft skills: Software and Tools · Accounting Software: Must be proficient in specialized QuickBooks. · Spreadsheets: Utilize spreadsheets (e.g., Excel) to efficiently manage and record financial data. · Payroll System: Experience with AGP Payroll is a plus. Key Skills & Qualifications · Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a full-cycle bookkeeping role is required. · Attention to Detail: Absolutely crucial for maintaining accurate, error-free financial records, especially for payroll and tax documentation. · Organizational Skills: Excellent skills needed to manage various financial documents, data, and tight deadlines effectively. · Communication: Essential for professional interaction with clients, team members, and external accountants to discuss financial information and resolve discrepancies. · Bilingual Proficiency: Required for clear communication across different teams and, potentially, with bilingual clients or vendors. · Tax Knowledge: Knowledge of US tax requirements is preferred
